I have a 'tiel that does a flighted retrieve. I trained this first with the retrieve, then just moving my hand away in small increments, so he first had to jump to my hand, then flap once, then more and more. He also likes to put pennies in a piggy bank (also based on retrieve - the hard part was getting his aim right), and we're working on basketball. Anyone know where I can get an obstacle course for him? I want him to go up a ladder, ring a bell, across a perch, through a tube, etc.

Thanks!

I have an Umbrella cockatoo that sings Opera! and she has a very hearty laugh that she breaks into.
I have another one that dances and 'clicks his beak' and he's got a lot of different moves, not just repetition!
I have a molluccian cockatoo that loves to chew ice! he will set there and be shivering and wont stop chewing this ice!
I have another one that cusses like a sailor! appropriately! If I tell him to "get in your cage, NOW!" he will respond with "f*%$ing @sshole!" but he will go in.

I love my birds more than I do me. I haven't been on vacation for 15 years! ( I don't trust others to take care of them)
References :
My red front macaw likes to command my puppies!!! She will call them over (come here puppies!) and then tell them to sit! When and IF they obey she will tell them they are good dogs! (I did not teach her this, she taught herself by listening to me!)She also waves bye bye and will shake hands. For the handshake I would take her talon and lift it up while saying Shake! She picked it up real fast! The wave was easy once she did the shake and I just tapped her talon until she lifted it as high as possible! She plays peek a boo (I just covered her and lifted it and said the words, only had to a few times before she started) and she loves fighting my 5 yr old nephew for toys (they both like to play with the same ones!!) (she tells him no and bangs her beak on the coffee table while saying right here!!!) If he does not listen to her she marches over to him and grabs it!She says over 100 words and knows everybody in the family by name! She loves watching cats on the tv and will call them and cannot understand why they do not respond!

My african grey can count to 4 (will not go further!!!) I just counted to him over and over again. He knows how to count, sometimes to tease me he will say 1 ,3, 4 hesitate and start this horrible laughter!!!) then he will do it correctly!!! Nobody taught him that!
References :
My African Grey is only 7 months old and doesn't really speak yet. I taught her how to identify colors, shapes and sizes. It too was really easy. I always identify everything I give her by color, ie. "want a green grape, or want a red melon?" I have these 2 and 3 inch round plastic disks (coins) of different colors. I hold two different colors up and moving them towards her one at a time I say the color of one then the opposite, ie. "blue, red" I do that three or so times then I say "which one red, or blue?" and she grabs the right coin and drops it into my hand. I do the very same thing with the different size coins, ie "big, little, which one big?" She's mastered those two games, now I need only hold up the two different colors or sizes and say "which one. . .?" and she knows the answer. Last week we started working on shapes. I say, "see the star, yellow star, pretty star, see the green square, that's a nice square, see the square?" then I ask her, "which ones the star?" She's doing great at her shapes as well. I'm really anxious to hear her voice though. Anyone have any Grey's out there? How old before they started to chatter?
References :
Hehe, yeah I have a Quaker parrot, I taught him how to boogie :) I say "can you boogie?", and then I made up this little song, and now sings, and while he's singing the song I taught him to move back in forth(like he's dancing), and he picked up on that.Hehe, it's pretty cute. He also says "howdy", You teach the same way you would want to teach him how to say "hi". lol and another one of the cutest things it does is, like when Something loud happens, something that would startle him, I say "What in the world", it's pretty funny too, he picked up that pretty easy. OK last thing that I want to share w/y'all, is that, I taught him how to say "people, people, people" . It's off of a John Wayne movie lol. I just say it every now and then and now he's picking it up:) Ok enough about me, and my parrot. Hope I gave some good ideas :)
References :
My sun conure doesnt talk, but he will go through a little obstacle course on the top of his cage to get treats. It is soooo cute. He also loves to give kisses. I just make a kissy sound and he will climb down my shoulder and kiss me on the cheek or on the lips (whichever he can reach).
