I'm Dave Womach, Chet Womach's brother and just wanted to write on this.

We did use flooding a lot on our previous course, as it works well with SOME birds, obviously not all.

Since then, we have developed a new techinque we like to call the "power pause" that works with 99.9% of all birds with long term results. We will be re-releasing our course using these new methods over the previous flooding methods which will be released within the next few months.

The power pause is actually how I formed my relationship with my military macaw. I can now do anything with this bird! When flight training, just flying to me is his reward, that is how much we have bonded using the power pause.

This is a video of Cash flying in my magic show and how he gets rewarded by merely playing with me!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=pM-0t0FLbcY

Hope this helps and gives a little insight to our courses and how we too, learn over the years of taming and training.
References :
http://www.youtube.com/davewomach

In addition to Barbara Heindrich's videos, check out the ones from Steve Martin at Natural Encounters

Natural Encounters runs many of the bird shows at zoos and theme parks around the world, and they also use only positive reinforcement.
References :
I prefer Barbara Heidenreich's training videos. She uses positive reinforcement to teach wanted behaviors instead of forcing the birds, or flooding, which is not productive in the long run(and also cruel).
The Goodbird site has articles to read and videos for sale.
The Gabriel Foundation has some wonderful articles by Susan Friedman that are very helpful also.
References :
http://www.goodbirdinc.com/
